🌿✨ Simple & Nourishing Trad Wife Lunch — Staying Healthy at Home ✨🌿
As traditional wives, we spend many hours in our cozy homes, lovingly tending to our husbands and keeping everything in order.
But being home all day also means we’re close to the kitchen — and that makes it so important to stay intentional about what and how we eat. 💗
Today’s lunch was a sweet little reminder that keeping it simple can also mean deeply nourishing.

🥔 While I was doing my morning chores — laundry, fluffing pillows, a little dusting — I poked holes in a russet potato and popped it straight onto the oven rack at 375°F for 45 minutes.. No foil, no fuss — just a wholesome, perfectly roasted potato by the time my tasks were done.
🥚I put a pot of water on and made a hard-boiled egg. Bring water to a boil, and add a bit of salt. Don't forget to swirl the water and make a vortex before adding the egg, boil for 7 minutes and add to ice bath to ccool when finished.
🥗 Then, during a cheerful phone call with my daughter, I assembled a fresh, vibrant salad:
A base of mixed greens + kale slaw with shaved Brussels sprouts (rich in fiber, folate, and antioxidants!) and shredded green & purple cabbage, and some carrots.
Chopped tomato & cucumber for that hydrating crunch
A can of tuna mixed with spicy brown mustard — high in protein and omega-3s
A drizzle of 1 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette for flavor without too much fat
Topped with a boiled egg half—full of healthy fats, B vitamins, and a satisfying finish

💡 This lunch was light but deeply nourishing — packed with vitamins, minerals, lean protein, fiber, and healthy fats. It kept me feeling satisfied, focused, and energized to continue with my day — without the sluggishness that can come from heavier meals or mindless snacking.
Being home for long hours doesn’t mean we should overeat or graze all day.
Taking care of our bodies is part of taking care of our homes.
When we feel our best, we can give our best. ✨
Would love to hear what other ladies are enjoying for healthy, heart-happy lunches during the week! 💕
